How do you replace it? Just pull it down, or play with those tabs?
Is there a o ring there somewhere too?

Hard pull releases it. No coolant will come out. Sensor rarely is bad. Check wiring within 6-12 inches from sensor. Most likely magnet inside tank is getting stuck. Solution is surge tank replacement.

That is the correct answer. I wouldn't even mess with it. The new tank comes with a sensor. Amazon has them for a quarter of what the dealer wants and it's easy to replace.
