Had truck in the shop had the DPF cleaned at 498k miles now at 500k plus so no more warranty, got the truck back and now the tach reads 450 with key off and 2000 at 65 mph actually 1250rpm.
Called back to the shop and they said "nothing we did, would cause that"
So is there a mechanical cable or is there electrical sesens going through ECM, that is causing this?
Digital tachometer in driver info center is acuraccu but not the analog gauge.
Any ideas?
T680 how does the analog tachometer work?

There are sensors going to the tach, no cables.
Check with your KW dealer, there's been alot of recalls on certain models regarding wiring harnesses. -
I would like to know the same thing!! spent 60K on a truck and have to worry about little crap like this! freaking annoying. loaded up at a farm and turned the truck back on and BAM! instant annoyance
