At least you took the truck to a more competent shop. There was a thread on here not too long ago about a floor jack through an oilpan. Despite numerous posters telling them to get the truck out of there and to a dealer they let the truckstop shop fix it and it pretty much turned into a #### show after that.

I would not trust ANY TA/PETRO to do anything more complicated than a tire repair. Certainly nothing to do with the engine or drivetrain. I have had 2 very bad experiences with simple oil changes * (drop the oil and change 2 filters) and had I not been watching them they would have screwed both of them up. Inexperienced help that is not being properly supervised. Not even close to being paid enough to get qualified personnel.
Called HQ in Westlake OH on both occasions. Supervisor of service essentially admitted to me they don't have a chance to compete with larger shops in pay scales for mechanics, so they hire losers and newbies.

Their rates are on par with dealerships, and they are a Freightliner service point. Fewer people are taking their trucks there, and I think that is their big problem.

Homer Hogg needs to kick it up a notch.

We used to make a fortune replacing driveshafts that truck stops screwed up by replacing ujoints.

You can do far more damage than good if you don't know how to properly install and center a ujoint.
