Well, the last time I was there (circa 1991), the place was FILLED with lot lizards (as were most urban T/A's back then..).
long time no chat, my friend. Been a long fall with my mom finally getting knee replacement surgery in September and healing up. You mean Jessup actually used to be a decent place, LOL?
Well hello my friend. Glad to hear from you again. Yes it really was back in the day as we're so many of the TA's. Having an attached motel, secure parking, lounge downstairs, great Country Pride and a feeling of security it was a really good truck stop. The huge food distribution center across the road brought way to many trucks and of course all the problems associated with hookers and pimps in the parking lot and thus the unsafe and trashy feeling. I hear that it has been greatly cleaned up and with security patrols no more hooker problems. Stay in touch my friend. It's always good to hear from you. Have a great holiday coming up and I hope that your Mom heals quickly.
It’s the new breed of driver, who never had to go into Hunts Point back in the day, or park at the Philly truckstop.
South Philly off Packer Ave. The Walt Whitman Truck Plaza. Philadelphia - Google Maps Long gone. That was the food district. Some places are still around there.
I stayed there a few times before it closed. I used to pick up at the Kimberly Clark place in Chester all the time. It was a little wild, at night, but I have pretty much been a night driver since I started, so most of the shadier aspects were toned down a bit while I was sleeping. Speaking of Philly, the.first.time I went from Philly to deliver in NJ, I crossed the BF Bridge. Kind of a wierd setup... I thought I had missed something and put myself right into the middle of downtown
You're talking about over at Lawrence and Pattison? I went by there late last year en route to Moorestown,.NJ.... I didn't even recognize it. Except for some of the larger old places, it looked totally different. Only way I knew had the right place was because of that bend in 95, just before 76, with that big bridge off to my right front.
