Can i just say how much I despise this place? Every night of the week this place is an unmitigated disaster. People parked everywhere. A constant, unending stream of trucks coming in and out of here. The Loves across the freeway isnt any better. I have to come here every night. Trying to find another spot to go but this whole area is like a truckers skid row. Trucks parked everywhere.

I dont understand why a truck stop chain hasn't built a big place in between Indio and Ehrenburg(SP?) AZ. As jammed up as these places are I'm sure opening a new spot would do great business.

    Upinsmoke and jsnell Thank this.

It takes a hell of alot of time, money and a disgusting amount of effort to raise up a truckstop. Unfortunately certain corners around the USA are overflowing in trucks. You can pave 10 miles worth of say Walcott IA the largest truckstop in America if not the free world and it will still be overflowing.

If a truckstop is so bad you cannot deal with it, then I suggest making changes so you don't deal with them anymore. I stopped staying at Memphis when I was constantly knocked on and asked for a date every 20 minutes through the night. The last hooker on my fuel tank had bugs jumping out of her eyebrows and she was in horrible shape under the influence of drugs and so on. I was not about to explain to my wife how those kinds of lice got into my clothes or worse on me. That kind of thing tends to break up a marriage really fast. So I sleep elsewhere.

Alot of good truckstops were buried by progress over my lifetime and I seriously miss them. However that is all ancient history dead and gone. My home stop is physically a costco store now in frederick. It no longer contributes and supports the economy of the region, the costco is a parasite on society up there taking your money or increasing your debt but giving you nothing. Ive got two parking spots left in the area one off US322 near US 15 at the Juniata river and the other not far from Camp David off US 15 where no one would bother me too much. But you have to provide for everything before you can stop there for any length of time to accomodate the sleep time, appointment times and so forth.

We have to improve on truckstops. What they started doing in the 2000 time period was replacing old school full service truckstops with just tiny places where there might be junky poor quality fast food served by a mutinous staff who has had quite enough of the filthy truckers. Those are not truckstops to me. Not anymore.

This could be said of 90% of the large truck stops across the country. Especially near major metro areas.

If it's not too late in the evening, go to the casino next to the TA or thirty miles east at Chiriaco summit. You are correct. The TA Indio (actually Coachella) is a garbage pit.

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Fantasy Springs, Spotlight 29, or Morongo. Usually Morongo nowadays.
