TA Lexington, VA only 2 pumps are operational.

The TA Lexington is a shadow of what it used to be when it was Lee Hi Truck stop. You had Berky's Restaurant which was an oasis in the night when you were hungry with the best food and great waitresses. The parking lot was usually full of loyal dedicated truckers. There was an rv park in the back that was decent for an overnight stop if you were travelling in an rv but today it is a real dump. When Bobby Berkstresser was the owner before his untimely death a few years ago along with Whies Petro in Raphine these were 2 very well run truck stops/travel centers. They have both gone downhill since TA took over control of these great truck stops. I hope that TA gets their act together on a lot of issues that need correcting.I sure miss the old days.

 

Hey at least they flagged off the pumps! Most places these days don't even care to put a bag over them so you get out and get ready to pump, often losing your place in line at the pumps that work, only to find out you can't fuel. And half the time you can't back up either.

VMI cadets were known to take their dates to the restaurant when it was Berky's, which was featured on the travel channel.

My brother in law stopped there on his way to Florida and saw the coroner pulling a driver out of his truck.

 

Unfortunately, after it was sold to corporate it went down hill. When it was owned by White's who owned the Petro at the 205 it was much better.

I' m not backwards just forgot to mention Mr. White as the founder and original owner of Whites Truck Stop. I was only making reference to Bobby as the owner before the corporate take over and total down turn of these 2 great truck stops. I stand corrected.

 

An employee at the TA told me old man White sold both to corporate, and he passed away a few months later.

 

Hmm interesting not the way I understood it at the time…Whites employees then said they were now working for Bobby from Lee Hi when Mr White passed…either way wasn’t long till corporate showed up and ruined both
