There's a free app called CamScanner. I use it to email my POD's as soon as I deliver. It works great. I also use the free Adobe Acrobat app to generate invoices and sign rate cons on the fly.

 

You are not shafted at all. You actually go lucky and don't know it. Customers are already asking for trucks with ELD's. The marketing is going to get tight, rates are going up and ELD's will be required.

And you shouldn't have to worry about falsifying logs if you are making money.

 

I do the same thing. 8 inch LG tablet from AT&T free with 2 year commitment. Unlimited data for 20 bucks a month. Use it for logs, ifta, nav, loadboards etc. Plus DirecTV and Netflix while waiting to load/unload, reset, etc. I also had to glue the plate to the dash and I installed a dedicated power cord.
