Tablet or no?

I have an ipad and love it! I gave my laptop away to my brother. I can do anything with my ipad that I could do with my laptop except play call of duty I can do spread sheets and word docs and check my email. I only have 2gigs of data a month and never use it all. You only use quota if you are on cellular, not wifi. I rip my cds on my desktop at home and store them on my iphone to play aux music in the truck. I am sitting at home right now and typing on my ipad through tapatalk. My eyes are not what they used to be so I dont do much on the iphone unless I have to. I also bought a hard case that includes a wireless keyboard my by zagg.
No Sir, give me the ipad any day of the week. If I feel the need to game, I game at home on a real computer. Forgot to mention that I also run my own domain and game server.

There are third party apps for the Blackberry that run skype.

I have a laptop in the truck, kindle fire I use sometimes,(Mostly to watch movies, read books, and a little low level net browsing).

 

If you pay full retail or buy a used phone (what I did), you can still keep unlimited data. I've only had my galaxy nexus for a couple months, but have used north of 20 gigs in each of those. Capped data is a bunch of crap IMO. What good is it to have 15 or 20 mb DL speeds if you can only take advantage of it for a couple hours a month without an obnoxious overage charge.

 

I hate tablets. Or, to be precise, I hate touch screens. They never work correctly for me. Don't say "You're doing it wrong" or "Calibrate the screen", etc. I've tried all of the suggestions, and no matter what device it is, if it has a touch screen, I come close to driving my fist through it after tapping an icon to launch an app 5-10 times, only to have some other dang icon activate. Typing on the android keyboard? FORGET IT. I tried to send a one-line chat message the other day and either it mis-recognized the tap and selected a key nowhere near the one I wanted, or it didn't sense the tap at all. I've tried them for years now, and always the same results. Yeah, I'll take my laptop... ANY laptop over a tablet any day of the week. I can use my mouse on the tablet, but that defeats the purpose.

 

I got a Lap Dock 500 for my razr maxx works great with my grandfathered unlimited data.

 

I'm so stupid, I could still have unlimited data if I would have stayed with Verizon after my first contract ended in 2010. But no I got excited with going to Tmobile for cheaper plans and unlimited data not realizing that once I went trucking that my coverage would suck. I'm back with Verizon now lol

Note 2 sprint unlimited data I go through 4-5g a week. With a wilson booster limits dropped calls and constant 3-4g. Data.
