First week done here in GA w/Mr.Greg as the intructor. Absolutely a whole different perspective driving bobtail down through hilly curves and small towns here in GA. 4 students in class, one seems to still be having some major problems with shifting, and Mr.Greg told him in no uncertain terms that he is "behind the curve" and Has to get it. We start backing on Monday. There is a lot to know..all the different procedures to follow for everything (pretrip, coupling, uncoupling, raise the air bags, dump the airbags) Looked like an idiot today cranking the landing gear handle the wrong way, wondering why they were not going up ? Geesh ! But all in all I feel I'm doing good..wish downshifting would come easier. I'm pretty smooth running through them going up, but going down needs some improvement, I'll get it good sometimes, and then others I just blow it.

Sounds like things are going well there. Glad to hear it. Do me a favor - tell Greg (David - from his last class) told you just jam it in gear if it wont go. Then watch the look on his face.
I bet you all went to get his breakfast up in Jasper GA! I am still having issues sometimes on down shifting, but it's getting easier each day.
Just practice - Greg will help you! -
Hey TD - was in Richfield terminal Friday evening and did a 34 reset there. Was looking for you but they said you all left early. Was hoping to meet you.
Left this morning and sitting in Lewisburg TN for a 7am delivery. -
Yeah we left about 8 am for the drug test and didn't have to come back. Bummer I would have liked to meet you as well. How are you getting along with your trainer?

Hey Tdog : Almost to the end of week 2 here in Cartersville, Taking our first trip w/ trailer today. Tomorrow we have off as Greg has some company responsabilitys to take care of elsewhere. Our "Big" road trip starts Monday am..Heading to Trenton, OH then up to BlackRiver Falls, WI, back to Trenton, OH then return to Cartersville, Will take 3 or 4 days..and of course we are excited to be driving through Chicago ! One student sent home (couldnt get straightline backing after practicing 9 hours)..and then He fell out of truck and knocked himself out during 2nd week (got out of truck wrong way). We all felt bad for Him, but Greg has a responsibility to protect the company and think about the safety of others..not to just let someone pass the class. Overall things are good !

That's a pretty nice road-trip. too bad for that other guy, though. I could see him having trouble with the paralell parking but straightline backing is basic and falling out of the truck, wow. Anyways have a good road-trip and have fun.

Congrats Jimmy!! Hope they take care of you and you don't have to job hop. Looking forward to hearing from you and ChanceMaster.
Stay Safe -
Thank Banjer. Spoke with my training driver and I am going out Monday or Tuesday. Seems like a nice guy over the phone . He says he gets home every weekend so that means I get home every weekend. That will be a nice transition.
