Tag axle pros and cons need help

    I'm offroad far too much for a 6x2. I'm on a diet to save weight.

    I will say, at least you don't have that inter axle shaft to grease. Imagine the savings on grease!

    I also see Carter's Express out of Anderson, IN running these 6x2's with a lift axle on the front.

    This is in the same classification as super singles. Both are great for fleets in predictable routes with lots of fleet support(wreckers availabile at discount contract prices, tire service at national account costs etc. ) If you have these then the .$03 per mile saved on fuel might be worth it. If not it is a loser.
