I dunno. Low pay isn't the reason either. I just think its just a general lack of empathy and/or maybe conscientiousness that causes people to act the way they do.

I used to make a nice living in another industry and there were $h!tbirds working right alongside me making just as much, and not caring a whit about anything else but themselves. Who knows what they were thinking about or why?
I agree, unless there's actually an accident or video proof, these cases are probably very hard to prove.
I don't know, this could be conscrewed as safe driving... if you wanna say safety is the priority, you'd have to stop driving (it's inherently unsafe, thems the brakes). Other than that it's about professionalism (in which safety is merely a guideline—that's the context we're touching upon here, and focusing on micromanagement will never get one's head around the bigger picture).

I was merging into a left lane with my blinker on,and a SUV ignored it,and passed me,causing me to swerve back. There was a cop behind him,and he got pulled over.

I'm glad you consider your self a safe driver , we just don't agree agree here Glenn71 , nothing wrong with that. But , those crazies as you defined them don't have the right to break the law , or by doing so put you , me and anyone else that they come into contact with in danger....by getting fired after being watched by another driver who can clearly identify them , the equipment ( by tag / vehicle # ) and then by the actual time stamped copy of a video. That's how the driver I know lost his job....I never said it was just a disgruntled person with an axe to grind with truck drivers. I agree innocent til proven guilty myself....

A little off subject. On the job we are working next to a 45 mph road. The ppl will not slow down in const. zone. Gas co. said enough. Monday 25 mph and cops patrol. How do you like us now.

Well , you have your take on the importance of safety and I have mine...looks like they differ.....but after over 3 decades and over 3 million accident free miles driving I'll stay with what I know works for me....safety begins in your head...without the right attitude and critical thinking skills to go along with it accidents are gonna happen. Sure there will be times when a person is just in the wrong place at the wrong time , but , by being proactive and watching your surroundings most of the time you won't have to be re-active to a bad situation...

What we have here is a failure to communicate.
