I live in middle TN and there doesn't appear to be drop yards or terminals within reasonable hometime range. Does Roehl let you take home the truck?

Depending on the lane you are on, if you are dedicated they slip seat you I believe, if you are OTR, they will route you and your truck to the house. Make sure you can secure both the load and the truck.
Have you signed with Roehl yet? Do you have a CDL, maybe other companies closer to home

I haven't signed with anyone yet. I'm in the deep-research phase. I want to eliminate as many surprises as I can before signing on with anyone. No CDL yet, just about to finish school.

You will need to ask someone from the company - and NOT a recruiter. They will lie, cheat and steal.
Call the company and talk to a driver manager or someone in safety.

Your area is not high risk area, so you should be able to take the truck home.
It might be a bit tricky if you have a trailer, if your home could not occupy it.

Heard the same but they require experience. You're not joking about TN. I've been layed off 4 times the last 5 years. Figure trucking might keep the mortgage paid.

Thats sorta what I was trying to do with this thread. I can accomodate a truck as long as they don't mind the chickens roosting under it when I'm home!

Curious who all you have scouted. Most companies these days are HARD UP for drivers, just because their Web site says EXPERIENCE needed, most of them over look that...If Big G is near you APPLY..What's the worse they will say..NO THANK YOU???? You DO NOT Get hired at 100% the companies you NEVER apply to
