It don't mater if they started to unload u !! detention is how long they keep u at the shipper/receiver after ur appointment time. ours starts after 3 hrs

if ur broker is giving u crud about that i would check ur contract.

Detention pay? Whats that, a foreign word? Wish the company I worked for even knew the definition. Oh well, its just a starter comapny and once I get my year in, the economy picks up, etc........

a lot of companies who always charged detention arent doing it now. they are afraid of losing the account to a company who doesnt charge it. yes, some customers would change companies over that.

But please keep in mind, you are on private property and the shipper does not have to let you take pics AT ALL!!!! we had a shipper in Seattle, was going to do a little filming for my trucker buddy class. was informed that if I didn't put the cam up I would be told to leave the property. so be sure to get permission before you film or take pics.:biggrin_255:

Cell phones can take pics quite quickly and you can be discrete.
I told one last week, Your floor is much more cluttered with paper and such than my trailer. you broom that off and I'll broom my truck. showed him the pics of the two areas, ......

First off check the load of a preloaded trailer before you back under. Once that 5th wheel latches its your baby, good bad or indifferent. 2nd if your working for a company that has a policy of docking the driver for anything its time to seek new employment, first off they cant legally deduct anything from your check without you authorizing it. I pulled produce for a good number of years and never lost product because of it shifting, knowing how to load your trialer is part of driving. Knowing how to drive to keep it from falling over is also part of driving. If your driving is damaging loads, then maybe you need a new way to make a living. Its not NASCAR.
