thought is that you will have your air bags tightened up and you may not get an accurate weight reading.
Ever notice how when you release your brakes the truck kind of "settles".
That's why.48Packard Thanks this. -
Ignore that driver.Sometimes you have to set the brakes because you're too far from the call button. What are you spose to do get out and reach for the call button while trk is rolling, lol.I have parked on the scale and walked in the trkstop because the cashier is asleep at the switch.Think maybe that driver meant to say don't slide your tandems on the scale.

As far as having to reach for the call button....yes, I'm a short guy, and have at times either set my brakes on the scale, or just left it in first gear and shut the tractor off so I can hear through the MickeyD-reject speakers so many scales have.
Now if I can figure out how to tighten my own air bags..... -
If your truck is going to roll on that scale. I'd be finding a new scale because that means the scale is not level.
How can a scale be accurate and not level at the same time?CondoCruiser, pattyj, LaBubba and 1 other person Thank this. -

I've come close to falling off a few times when trucks are parked all over the place around the scale and you have to swing it in funky to clear everything. The cat scale at the Houston Love's comes to mind....
Ok bad example since it's not high off the ground but good example of having to turn funky to get around other trucks to get on it, or off it.
