Depends on the company... The company I drive for its not a problem to get time off if you really need it... Twice this year I have taken 2 weeks or more off at a time... Once was planed a week or 2 in advance... The other was a family medical emergency, and the company helped me get home faster by having another driver meet me to switch loads so I would have a load that took me straight home.

Both times I was able to leave all my stuff in my truck and no one drove it while I was gone.

But as others have said... Dont get the cart before the horse.

Yes.....Because you are a long time valued driver, your company will do that for you. Many others would as well. But..........with the plethora of job hoppers in this industry, it usually won't work that way. The guy that has worked for 5 companies in the last 3 years will be the first one to complain anw whine about "time off". He hasn't EARNED IT. Apparently you have. You have given 20 years of your life to one company. YOU DESERVE that type of treatment:D

I dont know I've drove for cfi for 9 months i started my career with them. Every time I go home I go home for a week straight which was only twice. Last time and this time though I stayed out 3 months and go home for 2 weeks. I stayed out for Thanksgiving and am going home for Christmas. Hopefully be home Sunday. For as long as I stay out if a company wouldn't let me go home for the time off id earned id find a new company real quick. Don't mess with my hometime and we will be fine. Thats my go to to tell a company where they could put their truck.

You are obviously doing a good job for them and they are treating you fairly. Keep up the good work

Most of my trucking vacations have been between companies.

That sounds great. I currently get a week off with truck after being out a month. I would totally be down with being able to stay out longer and then get two weeks off and not having to clean out truck.
