Back in the truck. AC blower works. However, the warehouse had me off until tomorrow, so they didn't have a load for me. My 2nd line of defense comes into play here. I go ask fleet what needs covered. I head out to Hazleton tonight.

 

It's always fun to be told to hurry to get empty so you can grab the next load in time . Just to find out the load cancelled.

 

2 picks 178 miles apart going to GR for a window that shuts at 230pm tomorrow. My guess? I'll be delivering on Friday

 

I just (re)discovered that Maryland rest area/welcome centers close after 5pm . Kinda silly.

 

I find it funny how companies beg for drivers to work over holidays, yet when the time comes, the freight that was good runs has dried up to "ok, fine" runs.
Both California and Texas loads pushed out to next week, so now I'll head to the Carolinas

The other day I was talking with an o/o leased to my Co. And asked what kind of differences there are between what I'm getting vs. Him.
26cpm more, no maintenance plan (no 15cpm deduction either) and fixed costs around $165.

I says I need to pay this thing off sooner or find a cheap truck I can get a loan for. (That guy bought his for 10k cash, invested about 1k to get it how he wanted)

Family expenses get in the way of saving up for a truck that fast.
Only 2yrs and change left. Guess I'll have to wait.
