Taking another swing at it

Ohio supposed to see some flakes. Rain just started, saw weather looks like we might sleep through it.

 

Saw more accident backups today than all summer combined

 

With no empty trailers to grab when I dropped at Meijer, I took it upon myself to bobtail to the yard. Maybe I'll get one in the morning.
I'm not sitting around hoping for an empty to show up on a Sunday.

 

I got the ok to bob up for my water load. But that will wait til I take a nap

 

Pet food back isn't ready yet. I guess I'm sleeping in Iowa tonight

Hope all is well. Like last year, I'm working over the weekend. Basically working until December 17th when we head to Disney

 

Hope you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving as well. I just got home and go to Statesville NC. tomorrow night for a load back this way and then I am getting a load of beer for Monday delivery. Hope to pick up beer Friday and then come home til Sunday but I have a funny feeling it aint gonna happen that way.

 

I'm hoping the water loads are just piled up for me to keep moving . And beer backhauls too.
Got to go to sleep now, very early rise to make this weekend work.

 

The best laid plans...
I got up at 130am so I could grab my preloaded trailer and head north.
Nobody bothered to investigate...the brewery is closed today. Gates closed early last night. Won't reopen until 11pm
Night dispatch is trying to find something, but it's a holiday now.
Best I can hope for now is layover pay while I wait.
What a waste of time.

 

Over the next couple of months I would recommend all drivers double check the shippers and receivers hours, as, with the holidays and all, their bound to change.....dispatch around the trucking industry seems unusually good at NOT taking this into consideration.....
