The kid is convinced. He wants a CDL and wants to team. I guess we will look into schools when I drop him off.

Sat in the petro tv room and just started getting into the show that was on ...then a couple of good ol boys sat down and decided it was the time and place to discuss their life stories and details of their pickup trucks.
I really wanted to hear the dialogue of the tv, but the state of reefer freight and oil fields in Texas seemed to win the day.

I'm at home. My only concern is restarting the truck on Wednesday. It will probably be a good idea to try and start it up on Monday and let it get warm for a bit.
I return to the blood doc and see a kidney doc while I'm here.
Company just cut a deal with an insurance co that offers health coverage to o/o and families. It may be time to switch thing up.

If it's cold, I would start it. Where I am now on the Missouri/Iowa line, the temps were below zero last night and in spite of having an APU on circulating the warm coolant, the truck hesitated that one horrible moment before kicking over and starting. Even letting it run for 15 minutes or so, the oil temp barely moved off the peg and the coolant temp didn't.

When it's this cold out, I don't care and idle. 2 years ago my bunk heater kept me toasty, alrhough my truck wouldn't start. No more!

Our trucks shut off after 3 minutes, no matter the temperature. That took some getting used to, but so far, it's done well enough...and we have a lot of shippers/receivers in parts of the country where temps get very, very cold.

Get him to get his GED and have him study the cdl course here on this site while driving with you. If he can handle the course , I know what's its like, have him apply to a company that will train him and have him drive a year without you. Let him gets his experience without trying to impress you or mess you up in case that happens. A year with a mega will be worth a lot in many ways. He needs to mature in the real world without family..
