I'm loving this thread!!!! I'm going to jump in the lease work June 9th and I can't wait. I wonder if it's the company you work for??? I was going to PM you but did not see an option. The company I'm going to pays on percentages though since I would be in the southeast. If I say the percent, I'm sure people would know who it is. Although I must say, I agree with you not publicizing the company name due to the haters. My fixed payments truck, tags insurance etc would be around 625 per week. The truck would be a 2013 or 2014 cascadia with probably less then 70,000 miles on it. I know a couple that already started and love it. There otr though and is getting the cpm. Anyone have expierance with percentage pay and would like to give heir expierance? (Not trying to hijack your thread or anything wicked)

It has been stated in other threads and on news reports, that about 20% of those that attempt a l/p plan, make it. Make it could mean fail to some haters and awesome to others. To me, it is simply up to the person that starts a l/p, what the word success means. I have read many threads/posts regarding a l/p plan and have done my homework to the max. I will be starting mine june 3rd and have much confidence it will work out.

Percentage pay is, to me, the best way to go for some operations like flatbed but, with van it is a quarter toss since you have to get as many miles as you can. I feel van/reefer are better for mileage pay,,,just my opinion.

Funny! I have never once met anyone who bought a truck that way. Maybe someone has but I don't feel it is smart business practice. I am not a hater. Bought with $20K dn, a Pete, and another 10 K dn, a trailer. Leased to Watkins Shepard in Missoula and made good money running Balt-Sea. I paid for both running 130,000 miles a year and being a good business man, paying fuel and truck pmt first, Insurance and permits, then maint then myself. I never sat in any truckstop over 1 hr watching their TV, did my laundry at W-S terminals and homeand washed my truck once a week every week. I could sleep at night knowing some company could'nt make be put in a new motor, or something else they said was wrong. Heard of Lease Co. pulling engines out of 2 trucks and swapping them, charging drivers for a new one. Not one of the losers has ever gotton back on this forum and told how he lost his shirt.

I have met people who have paid off trucks using lp plans and are doing fine, if not great . Most successful people don't speak of it so loudly like those that are struggling or have failed.
Failure isn't a bad word. Failure is success training.
Drivers that pay off their trucks with an lp plan are like baby pigeons, you never see them, but the evidence is there to prove their existence.

I agree,, more people that fail at a l/p will come on here than those that succeed. The reason is, because when they do, they get treated like they are liars. I always hear how a smart business person doesn't waist time in TS's, watching TV or BSing. So, maybe those that succeed are the one's that are smart and don't waist time on the internet, or just don't make the time to come on the forum.

Don't take me wrong, I come on here because I make time. I don't do much else during my time off and I only need 6 hours sleep but, not everyone is like me. If in the next few weeks you don't see me on here much, it is because I am succeeding and just too busy to make time to come on the forum... nah, that won't happen, I still have to take a 10 and I only need 6 hours sleep.
