Ok, so I guess my truck may not be ready until Tuesday. Getting kinda tired of the run around.
Regardless, this has been one of the worst weeks that I can recall. First the wreck , then I get food poisoning, then I get hit with the flu. I'm still fighting the flu , I'm going to check on my truck eta about 9am, I hope I get a positive answer.

What was that Count Badapple said to the new King in Princess Bride...oh, right. At least you have your health. Wait...you have the flu and food poisoning recovery.

    I'm sorry. I can't help.

I lied. Ended up taking off today.
Finally back in my truck heading to MN again. Stopped short of Chicago because rush hour lasts until about 9pm and I want to run early AM like I'm used to.
Of all the things that were repaired or replaced or even. "Fixed" on my truck, I think I'm most excited about
The volume control on my radio.
It used to go only "up" and you couldn't turn it down (so metal !)
Now I can turn it up and down...mommy wow, I'm a big kid now.

4mer trucker, RERM, DenaliDad and 2 others Thank this.

On my last trip before home (where I've been for two days) my SiriusXM radio stopped working. Me without my radio driving an 80,000 pound monster at 65? A bad combination. So job 1 was getting the darned thing replaced. Hopefully, it will work; the test will come later when I go to the truck to see where my next plan will take me and I plug it in...

I hate Chicago rush, which is why I take 294 versus 90, even though it's a toll road. It's longer and not that much faster, but at least I don't have to fuss with that stupid downtown S-curve traffic.

    popcorn169 and Wickedfire77 Thank this.

My next run is to ATL that unloads Monday...at noon.
It's going to be a long weekend.
    A boring weekend.
Goes to show you, after 2 unplanned weeks off, and getting a short week to start back out, you know about how comfortable you are or are not. Luckily I have (had) an emergency fund in place to cover the day to day expenses if I were ever laid up...note to self; increase emergency fund by about 500%
I'm not in panic mode yet but I am in "they'll have to wait to get paid" mode.

DenaliDad, popcorn169 and 88 Alpha Thank this.

I wondered how your 2-week "vacation" was going to impact your payments. I'm happy to hear you had a plan. Many small business truck drivers don't...and suffer the consequences when the unexpected happens.

    RERM Thanks this.
