1718 miles this week without going home. I think that's a new low here. Unacceptable.
I'm trying to get them to get me a long weekend run, but I'm getting nowhere .
I'm starting to think those paranoia rumors are true...they starve you out on the last year to recycle the truck to a new contract....(not that it's worth a 3 yrs deal now, with nearly 1m miles on the motor)

Enough with your paranoia dude!!!!! freight is SLOWWW for every segment in trucking, just read the rest of the site...Intermodal, Tankers, Flatbed, Dry Van, Refrigerated, Expedite, Car Hauling....it's the slowest year since the Recession....this is a year of survival, you can forget about making a profit....and NO it's not YOUR company...

Atlanta trucker and Wickedfire77 Thank this.

It's not a matter of contract freight V spot market...it's SLOWWW all over....We run contracts with 2 of the largest shipping companies in the world (CMA, ZIM) and with CSX....They are all failing to meet their contracted shipments because the shippers ARE NOT SHIPPING THE CONTRACTED VOLUME OF FREIGHT!!!....this is import AND export!!!!

    Wickedfire77 Thanks this.

If it makes you feel better, my settlements (and those of most people in my company) have gone from $3,500 a week after fuel, to $1,200 last week!!!!

Most Intermodal carriers in Chicago are running at 1/3 capacity!!!!!....my company also ran reefers, dry vans, flats and steps...guess what, they've all been parked for a year or so, and all of us are running Intermodal....

    Things are BAD all over!!!

Now is the year to control and cut costs (business and home) and concentrate on paying off your truck...

Remember, the economy is cyclical...so there's an upswing coming (maybe 6 months or 12)...point is...go back to basics, execute on your plan and survive for the upturn!!!!

    Wickedfire77 Thanks this.

It was a small company, maybe 70 trucks when I started, but now they've opened 2 more terminals and expanded too quickly too maintain in my opinion . I'd say over 100 trucks are on the road for them now.
