I'm on an every other week funk. A few Friday's left. I needed to come home and unwind a few days. Now I'm headed out for a 3 stopper that empties in NC.
-
I'm really weighing the options. I may just stay put for a bit.
$1.16 per loaded mile and
90 CPM on empty miles (with fuel surcharge as well) but would be
responsible for maintenance and all of the repairs and tolls
(no EZ Passes)
I can't gripe too much, I can go home when I want, and paid DH miles with fsc is hard to ignore.
I know I could possibly "make more" going elsewhere, but I dig the preloaded outbound from home.
Maybe after I bank up some cushion cash, I'll make a jump.
My oversized gut is telling me to stay put for now.RERM Thanks this. -
I was to unload between 2-4am
Me: I'm here for a 10 pallet unload
Cold lady: you aren't in the system, you have no appointment and we are overbooked, not unloading you today.
Me: the sign here says if I'm late I can be worked in...
Cold lady: yes, it does. You aren't late. You're not in the system.
Me...do you have a restroom?
Cold lady: *points
No backstage passes left in the main event stall in the restroom. Lucky for me there was a paper toilet seat cover known as ### gaskets, and I usually have napkins with me.
Times like this are when I really hate my job. -
I can't believe it's only 2.5 weeks left.

There's something to be said for sticking with the devil you know until you build up a cash cushion......good line of thinking!!!!!
popcorn169 and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
Looks like I'm in the system for a 5am unload. This shuffled everything off by a day. Hopefully I can make it up over the weekend.

I've browsed some of the threads on here and I see a lot of ambition. I see drivers who see big numbers. Fall into the shiny new truck payments to make those big numbers, not realizing that those payments are due whether you run or not. If something happened at home and you needed a week to 10 days off, that's a deep hole to ever try to dig out of, especially at a big Corp that doesn't care about your hard times.
I feel for those drivers, but live and learn, as sage advice falls on deaf ears4mer trucker, 88 Alpha, RERM and 1 other person Thank this. -
And why do bobtail members alway resurrect old threads? Can't they read the post date and realize it's a dead thread and any comments would be fruitless?
