Forget the Coronado ghost trucks, as they apparently only have 2 of them. L.p. has to be a Columbia, or one if the few classic long or short hoods remaining. Yee haw

Yup. Means to an end though.
I thought about "upgrading". I think I'd rather just invest in my paid off truck. Maybe down the road I'll look again -
So now the idea is rattling around with another driver or two, that we should start our own carrier...old school trucks that aren't welcome at very many places.

check on your insurance first. they are the ones that run everything you know

IMO the l.p. advantages here are , 12.7 Detroit no def crap, warranty that covers everything, and cheap fuel at the hq.

South Dakota then who knows

En route back to MI, stopped at the Trails Petro on I35 xt 11. Skol Tavern connected to Iron Skillet. Pretty cool Viking theme going on.

About that,
If I'm starting a trucking business, I will need, either in cash or credit, close to $30,000 on-hand to survive until receivables cycle into regularity. The same amount will be required when id hire my first owner/operator. A credit card is not to be considered a line of credit, either. Run up 45 days of fuel costs on a 28% credit card, and id be parked before I start.
Not to mention the 15-20% up front for insurance costs before a wheel can turn.
Also need a back office staff at a physical address. Even if it's only one person, there has to be a safety and drug policy in place.
Someone has to send invoices to get the company paid. (Although, I've heard factoring can help on cash flow a great deal, sacrificing some to hasten payments and avoid headaches)
So, for now, this is a "cool idea". Until my motor is rebuilt and I have $30k to lean on, that's what it will remain. I'm thinking maybe I can pull the trigger in about a year.Cybercat and popcorn169 Thank this.
