A full glider without the motor can be costly

Trading any vehicle in is half logic and half instinct. If you are feeling like a major breakdown is imminent you will be so glad you got out while it was still worth something. On the other hand you will miss those payment free P n L statements.

Well, I know what I have, and I know what it needs. I could sink equivalent to a down payment into it and get plenty of miles before it quits. If I baby it, probably many more miles.
I really enjoy the less stress of no payment but at the same time, it’s only a matter of time before a major fix is needed and I can’t cover it.
That’s the give and take of it.
A couple of steers and a new turbo, along with a battery set for safety net, and I should be good until spring.
Time to do business with 911truckdown again.

If your putting away your .15 cents a mile and you are running a minimum of 2500 a week. You will have enough to cover everything. But you got to run to get it.

    Wickedfire77 Thanks this.

    I’m not hitting 2500 miles a week.
It’s gone downhill since Vince left. I end up running a good load, and the backhaul kills a day by waiting, I’m averaging 1800, give or take.
Granted I have been home a lot more and have doc appt kept.
Maybe I need to stay out for a full 3 weeks and then reevaluate

Have you had a dyno done on your engine since you failed into it? If you haven't it might not be a bad idea it might give you a better piece of mind.

Now this is only a suggestion and no warranty is expressed or implied.

Your health is a consideration. Maybe you could put your truck to work closer to home. Less miles on truck and your body but still good enough pay to be comfortable. Maybe do a little more fishin'

Nope ... it's what I did ... speced the truck exactly the way I wanted and had it built ... been in it for a month now. My first IFTA report on thus truck was 9 mpg. Battery APU, fridge, full guage cluster and 13 speed.
