Prayers for you friend...

I did not want to file for disability even though l was diagnosed with severe night blindness by two opthalmologists (neither doctor knew about the other diagnosis). I reasoned if l could reach age 62, l could retire. I was assigned to a regular route central Oregon to Bellingham WA for the last 3 years. I knew where l was going and being careful, l made it with no tickets or accidents. It sucks that as l paid off my second truck, l had to retire. I was making good money plus not having a $400 a week truck payment would have been great.
From reading about elogs, l knew l would retire rather than tolerate the over regulation.
Wickedfire 77, you will find another line of work, maybe in transportation using your knowledge of trucking?Last edited: Dec 10, 2018

Thoughts and prayers for you my friend. I hope you get your health in order..
88 Alpha Thanks this. -
Wicked, as I've told you privately, I'm sending good thoughts and prayers for you.
Just because your driving days are over doesn't mean your time on our forum has to be over. You have a great deal of experience, both the "what to do's" and the "what not to do's". I encourage you to stick around and continue to be part of us, if for other reason than to stick your chest out and remind those who say "you won't make it as a lease/purchase driver", yes, yes you did fail, right in to truck ownership.DonRobbie, RidgeRunner731, Jarhed1964 and 5 others Thank this. -
I’ll stick my nose around here once in a while
RidgeRunner731, 1951 ford, Feedman and 6 others Thank this. -
My prayers are with you @Wickedfire77 sorry to hear how things ended, but I guess your body is trying to tell you something right now. Like Uturngirl said, hopefully something even better will come along.
I always appreciated your posts - tips, observations and stories. Best of luck to you in this next season you’re entering.Wickedfire77 Thanks this. -
This whole process is rough. I had 3 dialysis treatment days in a row to get normal. That sucked. I’m still at UofM hospital hoping to go home in the next day or two.
I had to stop a nurse from giving me a shot of blood thinners, I guess it’s protocol here to prevent clots. I already have thin blood, that would just suck for me.popcorn169, 88 Alpha, Feedman and 3 others Thank this. -
I’m being sent home today. I start local dialysis tomorrow morning. So begins the next chapter
