I also applied to a local produce gig that I’d be home daily. I could at least stay fit if I do that…not that I’m a beach body guy

Happy holidays to all. Just driving the family back from vacation in Florida. Granted as a 4 wheeler but I think the bug has bit me after this. on the way down it was Gaylord mi to Forsyth Ga. On day 1. Way over what I’d do in a cmv. But I pulled it off without trouble. Going from snow/ice to rain and wind, to mild and cloudy, it reminded me of how it’s never the same thing every day. I saw familiar sights, and surprised by things that were new and finally completed as far as construction.

You're experienced, so you can help him make wise choices on training and future trucking employment.

I didn’t like the idea of teaming before, but now the seed is planted. Could be an option in the future

I think I might get back into it regardless. I’ll need to re-establish my driving history first. Go with whoever for a bit to build up that experience requirement.

Customers want their freight delivered quickly and will pay more for team delivery. I have been out of this game since around 2005 and my worst night as a team driver beats my worst night sleeping in a truck stop. I can only imagine the conditions of truck stops today
Teaming is overlooked and actually frowned upon on this forum but it can be very lucrative. The key is having split schedules 5-5 driving schedule, if you do the schedule based upon I drive my 500 miles and the other guy does his 500 miles you will burnout quickly.
