If I reloaded cheese the same day as stores my stores would be Thursday, and again Saturday.
But then they’d want me to be home on weekends…I may have to work it so it’s every other weekend?

I’m utterly disappointed, I had to wait for my load to be ready last night so I went to a truck stop. The TA sign said country pride restaurant, so I was looking forward to some hot meal. Should not have shocked me but there was no restaurant.

I hate sounding like some old grumpy guy, but I remember when truck stops were situated with available hot meals or a restaurant nearby. Now it seems everything is grab and go or fast food. is Iron Skillet even a thing anymore?

Worth repeating just for my own reasons.
People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. -
First paycheck today. I was expecting something low due to the short miles. I was told I get $25 for every stop. I translated this to every store unloading stop. much to my surprise, it’s every stop except my cheese origin. They even pay the miles to bobtail back to the yard.
so the milk backhaul stop? Paid. That equates to 20 stops per pay period. That made up for the “lack of miles” it will do for now.Feedman, drlmi, wulfman75 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Truck needs rotors, rather than sit, I’m going in another truck until a it’s done. Nice to know I’ll stay rolling if I want to

I’ve noticed the milk place has stopped having preloaded trailers for us and I’m live loading 5 hours later than the window. I end up driving overnight to make on time delivery if I can.

After a few weeks, it’s not bad. The dedicated thing does get old by not seeing anything but the same few roads every day, at least it’s predictable. Delivers tomorrow morning to 4 different sams club in Michigan then I go home.

Ran into a o/o yesterday hauling water (Niagara bottled) said it’s his bread and butter right now. Rates are at $3/mile. something must be going right

Every week, same thing. 2 turns a week, backhaul a have turned into overnight runs after live loading. I’m making enough to get by, but I think my exit may be after I hit that 6 month mark, because I feel I should be bringing in way more. (Granted I’m home every weekend, but I don’t even have a choice to run over a weekend!)
Rugerfan Thanks this.
