Ran from southern Ohio to FL for my delivery tomorrow morning. I’m still 80 miles away but I’ll be ok for my backhaul to get me home on time.

And of course the downfall of being OTR is the broker lying about appointments. I’m here at my delivery stop in GA that gets me to load to MI to get me home on time for my infusion. Now all that is in jeopardy. of course the dispatcher says hang tight and he will make a call and get things moving.
when the receiver says that they have no room for product until morning, I imagine calling him a liar won’t make things go smooth.

if I end up here overnight, that will greatly motivate my decision to run local. and I don’t even know if I get layover pay

    Rugerfan and wulfman75 Thank this.

I’ll get detention pay of $25 for every hour. That’s an expensive mistake on their end. And an easy $500 for me

If this is broker terms you'll be capped at 6 hours max payout on that $25 an hour. After you give away 2 hours for free of course. They'll tell you $150 for a 24 hour layover is the "industry standard".

We will see how it plays out. After I discussed it with the receiver, he agreed to empty me in the afternoon once his trucks were loaded. Now I’m at the next pickup waiting til morning.

So you got empty and didn't have to spend the night? How many hours did you lose from your arrival time at what you were told was the appointment time?
