On a side note. I ran into a bale of hay yesterday. On my way out of Dallas, and there it was, in the middle of my lane , after a car veered suddenly into the left lane. I hit it with my right side of my front end in hopes it would glance off and be pushed over so it wouldn't go under me, and possibly get wrapped up in moving parts. It worked . No harm done , but it was unexpected to say the least .

I find if I am in Chicago, Columbus, OH or in between, I can get a reefer/van load going home. But getting there is cheap freight and finding the load to get that area takes a minute but, I can get it done.

On my way to holland , then to the house a day earlier than expected . So glad these selections are over. Tired of the political ads.

Do you have your settings set to prohibit PM's? I live an hour or so from Holland (south of Grand Rapids) so I'm on a quest of finding a "good" company that actually hires drivers from this area.

I was born in Marlette, MI and raised in Reed City, MI up until 3rd grade. Moved a bunch as dad was a truck driver and ended back in Reed City, MI when I was in 8th grade. Left MI when I was 19 and headed south, to TX Ended back in MI about 2 years later. Lived in Newaygo, MI for 3/4 years and left again. Now, after all these years, I am moving back due to family issues and reconnecting with old friend. I will be living in the Howard City, MI area next spring. My wife has family from the Holland area, have you been there a while?

Not long. I relocated here 8 years ago, taking my final federal promotion from Alaska, because at the time, Michigan had no tax on federal pensions. That changed the year I retired during the first Snyder administration. Now my pension is taxed, my property taxes have gone up, and I own a house I'll probably never be able to sell. I am stuck here.

    Sometimes, life just sucks.

I made it home last night. Now I need to do a lot of prep for my turkey feast.

Getting stuck is synonymous w Michigan, isn't it? In fact, Michigan is Huron Indian for "stuck in heap big hole."
