Taking another swing at it

5 hours in a dock waiting for rugs to be manufactured and loaded . Didn't get too far in my journey home tonight . At least I'm in TN

 

Made it home through the fog last night. Everyone have a safe holiday. See you on the 30th

 

Christmas was good. I hope everyone has a safe new year and it hold better things for all than last year.

 

The times when my youngest girl of age 7 asks me if I can stay home all winter break with her, those are the times I wish I applied myself more at becoming a published author earlier in life. It's heartbreaking to leave but she realizes what I do now requires that sacrifice.
After taking a week off I ran an overnight to Hazleton pa and now I have a run to zypherhills Florida. Nice light load.
And I was under the impression I'd go in a hole this week because I was home. Not so. I had my last load processed that I dropped in Lansing and I'll end up with a few hundred deposited when I thought I'd be negative. Good day. Now to convince myself to stay positive and all that. I have trouble being jolly in winter through holidays. Something about it just depresses me.
Anyhow. onward!!!!

Have to kick it off right by having issues with my low gears not engaging correctly . 2nd gear just revs , I don't move. 3rd gear from a stop kinds hit and miss, luckily, I can still go down the road, but that road is stopping at the shop in ATL on my way to Florida. I can't pull a heavy water loAd out if 1-2nd gears are no good.
I also can't hold air in tank 2.
It leaks out of my air ride on the 5th wheel.
I don't have issues, I have a subscription .

 

Truck is all fixed. I'm in fl waiting for my water load out to GA . Hopeful I can view the game later today, if not I'll stream it on my phone.
Im reminded why I live in Michigan and why I like it. It's hot and muggy in Fl. There are bugs here. I think that's all I need as a qualifier.
The flood gates of elderly driving RVs have been unleashed on the roadways here.
On the way down I stopped at a petro for lunch and in the middle of me placing my order, an 80 something woman's starts asking my server what "drivers only" means.
Do manners and respect fade with age?
Some peoples children, I tell ya.

 

I'm also tired of the bait and switch haters.
Mit all begins with "how long you been with that company?"
They wait for a response, any response, then they go on to tell you how they worked for them for X time and then he told them they can go F themselves, and blah blah blah.
Why do I need to know your failures and grudges? I don't. I don't tell you mine on the road , at a fuel stop.
I had one this morning open with the common question ; " how long you been running with them?"
I stopped, already annoyed with old people , and answered with a question, "why does it matter?" I was needlessly aggressive and utterly annoyed. I could have been more cordial but the heat was getting to me .
And , since any response would do to get the monologue going he began vomiting out his well rehearsed hate speech of my company .
I cut him off with a simple " I don't care." And about faced back to my truck.
He started to protest because I hadn't heard how badly he was treated, and how terrible this company is to it's drivers.
Do what you want to the girl behind the counter, but leave me alone.
I have to wonder if his company pays him to harass other drivers on the fuel island.
Thats as bad as the sign holding "traveling, anything helps" people.

*sigh* not a good way to begin my year. The heat must make me irritated.
