So...one person's opinion of a "good" lease is bad because it's not your opinion, but your opinion of a "bad" lease is spot on because you say it is? I think that's called projection...and arrogance.

    Failure is just success training.
We wouldn't have ever had a light bulb if Edison hadn't "failed" over. 600 times.
Rodney dangerfield found a few ways not to make it in show business before being successful in his 40s
Stephen kings first book was rejected.

Ifs all in the eye of the beholder.
If you have a firm belief that leases will fail , guess what ? You are predestined to fail just based on your mindset .

Heck don't pin the bad lease myth on megas ... I'm with the mother of all megas ... run solo, don't train ... no mandatory accounts other than the initial bond account, that I'm drawing interest on - not much interest, but still interest ... I can accept a dispatch or I can work directly with a broker and book my own loads ... I can go home any time I want, for as long as I want ... I can deadhead anywhere I want, anytime I want.

which outfit? I must be out of the area of operation, because it sounds like you are one up on me being able to find your own freight.
i was generalizing, saying some CDL mills offer a lease straight to a new driver , it's sink or swim, most can't even tread water. The lucky few are quick study, and disciplined.

    Swift ...

As far as leasing to newly qualified solos ... it's the reefer companies that do it the most. The worst was CRE ... but something is going on over there. It used to be that about 7 out of 8 trucks would be a lease truck. Now it seems to have reversed, mostly company trucks. Saw 9 CRE trucks today and everyone was a company truck.

Maybe they learned...or maybe their insurance company wrote a letter.

I believe they are self insured ... probably more to do with driver retention ... they're company package is competitive.

I know that had a class action suit against them over the lease program, maybe they just did away with it. Everyone is better off for it.

After taking all day yesterday to make my way up to Grand Rapids by going ultra slow so I didn't lose control on the ice, I waited until morning to take my next load out.
I hope nobody I know was caught up in that snarl on I 94 or US23 yesterday.

I was was rear ended by a 4 wheeler this morning . Fun
