I don't think so. I'll be up front and let you know I'm not on with any of the mega carriers . Not Schneider, swift, CRE, crst, USX, or JBH. Not that I have bad things to say about them, I'm just putting a cork in the assumptions and speculations that it Must be a big carrier. I would say mid sized. Couple hundred trucks.
The program was designed by drivers, that is why it is working so well I think. Low fixed cost changes everything. They do take recent graduates too, but you are in a trainer truck for 6 weeks and have to test out twice before going solo.

sorry I ranted on a reply to your quote, take care.

if the guy has leased onto a new company after having a few years of experiencing leasing, why the haters?

grown man can make his own decisions and his own mistakes, twice or a hundred times

i leased with cre, prime, jct, i made money, but i also enjoyed the smidget more independence (at the time) from being a company driver

it taught me about how to run my own truck, so cheers for the man, hope he does well

I think every company is what you make of it, with much in your own hands. There is that pesky notion that one should never buy a truck from where you get freight and never get freight from where you buy your truck.
Im breaking those guidelines. I'm doing ok .
My AC was fixed yesterday, now I'm home until Monday and go again .
Im going fishing today, let you know what I catch.

there are armed security and bulletproof glass between you and them. I felt odd seeing that at a terminal. I swear one guard acted like he was Robocop pacing everywhere expressionless and scanning the area by turning his head.

I think I read pretty well but I missed this so I'm asking for clarity, did you say there is bulletproof glass and armed security guards guarding the dispatchers at all / some CRE terminals ? Some or all terminals ? CRE or other ? You saw this or someone told you?

    Thanks,

It's your thread Wickedfire. Rant all you want to, -- if you want to. Personally, I'm findin' what'cha post most interesting. That you won't put a name to the company is intriguing. I think you should consider keepin' the name a secret for at least 5 or 6 months. We don't really need to know. Keep us guessin'. Keeps thangs kinda unique.
Bottom line though is it's your thread and decision how to present it.
Whatever you decide, I'll be readin', and enjoyin' it.

Kinda hard to believe somethin' like that?
Many who have/had first hand experience with what you've described have reported those stories are true. I don't recall any claims from content C.R.E. drivers that those stories aren't factual. Quite the opposite, --- they've confirmed it. Some even think/thought the beefed-up security was a good idea, --- besides those who do their thang on the other side of the BP Glass Curtain, which comes after passin' through a metal detector first.
Can't be too careful these daze,
    don't'cha know.

Must make for a great work environment.

Former CRE driver and not really ever content... But bullet proof glass? ... only if that was what they were using on the windows of the building ... nothing on the inside.

    Robocop? More like Barney Fife.

And the security was not to separate us from them ... everyone went through the metal detectors. Frankly I found it no different than any other large corporate security procedure for access to the workplace ... A little more intrusive than some, less intrusive than most.
