    Go get 'em, tiger!

Btw, what do you think you're going to have into this truck, purchase price, interest, repairs, including lost revenue, by the time you pay it off? 120k, 130k, 140k??? Less, more?

No such thing as free. Regardless how many times the same problem is looked at.

When it comes to customer service.

    Unlike car shops.
    Diesel shops suck.

Probably won't hurt to try and make shop stand up and be responsible for sloppy work. Good luck .

Don't have those numbers in my head. That's what I have documents and accountants for. However, I suspect that by the time the truck is paid off, your guesses will be far better than reality. In fact, my back of the napkin calculation had me over 100k already for all those things you mention.

I just remember the intial post way back when, went something like, "she's a solid truck"...

Man, those intial relationship infatuations will get you every time ;-)

Either way you go old or new they are going to cost you money. Nobody rides for free.

This is where the Megas are at an advantage. Buying 1000 Trucks, straight from the Factory. For 60-65% of what a single Truck costs an O/O. Trading them out, or selling them, after 3 yrs. 350k. Total operating cost is a no brainer.

Honestly, I think she was a solid truck. I think most modern trucks are solid for the first 400-500k miles. Then they start falling apart. As designed.

The last big expense I had with the last boss.

Tow. $1500. Motel 8 days. 2 full tanks of fuel.
FL paid for repairs. I'm not sure what if anything boss reimbursed for tow and motel.

2 days was spent trying to figure why it wouldn't run. After they drained the tanks. DOH.

Injector cups at 275k. Diagnosing and antifreeze. And other parts I don't remember.

Right before that was the common radiator leak at the lower corner. Radiator was $2300 to be overnight to the middle of nowhere. 260k miles.
