Can you take a picture of your trailer with this issue and maybe post a like to the truck paper ad.
What you’re discribing sounds normal to me. Maybe I’m miss understanding you.Dirty-Low-Walker and Oxbow Thank this. -
There was a used one in truck paper out of PA with a video of how it operated and in the video the tail swung completely open and you could hear when it bottomed out against the other section, trailer must have sold its not in there now.
I will take a few pics tomorrow and figure out how to post them with my phone.
I think the one end of the cylinder is on a cam devise or a slot.Last edited: Feb 16, 2018

I should add this to the original post:
The service manager and the mechanic that worked on the trailer from Hale Trailer both stated that some do open up all the way and some don't, i asked both of them why is it some don't open all the way and neither one had a answer. -
Sounds like a good time to call talbert tech supportcke, Crusader66, SAR and 2 others Thank this. -
The last conversation with the service manager he stated that when i take the trailer back in for a adjustment it will be the last time they will work on it under warranty, after stating i couldn't see where there is anywhere to adjust it, at the same time he stated his tech guy knows of no adjustment that can be made either, they are supposed to call Talbert when the trailer arrives and will be talked through the adjustment from Talberts tech guy.
That wasn't reassuring to me, if i don't see where to adjust it and Hales tech guy doesn't see where to adjust it, i guess you might be right.
I might just set it up with Hale Trailer to do it at a set time and i will stay with the trailer so i can see the adjustment and converse with Talbert at the same time. -
Most folding tail trailers I've been around don't fold all the way out, I wouldn't make a federal case out of it.
Crusader66, SAR and kylefitzy Thank this. -
If i only loaded/unloaded in a parking lot or a paved road it probably would be ok and would deal with it, but i don't, i deliver on some new sites where the road isn't paved.
When the tail goes in the down position with the edge facing the dirt/frozen/tracking pad stone it binds and then sometimes pops until it levels out, which puts pressure on the hinges and excess wear on the edge. -
Talbert trailers suck! They mostly suck because of the people at Talbert. We own one currently. (Well Talbert denies building it). Some of the parts on them are next to impossible to find. I guess since the they don't or can't figure out what cheap ####ty parts they used to build this trailer its easier to just say they didn't build it.
Here's a story for you. We just purchased it used and were trying to fix a couple of items to put in service. I went to there tiny factory to pickup some parts for it. Well you stand in this little waiting room at a window. You can see everyone in the office but they can't be bothered to come to the window, so you use the phone to talk to them via there extension. The window is open so you hear them talking and you get to hear them through the phone all while staring at them. The strangest experience, I guess they big timed me.
