Easy now! lol.. I'm from the 80's long hair motorcycle guy with the leather and boots ..back then! Good times!
Anyway, Hey Eddy... I also like SNI because they have many options to advance your career and there is a lot of good people here as well. I started as company driver in the West Coast and did well. The more I put my time in the better it got. Definitely a challenge and will keep you on your toes!
Talk to me about why...

OSCAR MIKE GOLF---WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT
I just woke up, how could you do that to me?
Now I have to make an appointment with an Ophthalmologist to have the damage to my eyes treated, an appointment with a Psychiatrist to have the damage to my psyche treated and an appointment with my stylist to get one of those fabulous wigs.
That is no way to play Janga.
It is a catchy a tune in a sort of Weird Al kind of way...
A very disturbed Little Eddy
ma-ma I have bad dreams now....mickimause Thanks this. -
A Putt-Putt Pumpkin Pusher listening to 1000mph music dancing to the HOS tune the overlords dictate while caring in his-or her-heart a song of open road freedom...anymore dichotomies will be a sign of the approaching Apocalypse.
You ever listen to surf music?
Little Eddy.............................only slightly recovered from those images........"I once watched a snail crawl down the edge of a razor, the horror..." -
What the Hell you guys been drinkin... Holy Crap, good thing I retired from trucking over 15 years ago...
What happened to the True Trucker that wore 10 gallon hats, wore cowboy boots, big belt buckle and had a
chain-drive-wallet protecting his 3 dollars, listening to good-ole country music...
I drove for punkin, indirectly, they bought out the company I was leased to back in the 80's... They did leave us
alone since we were open deck freight and they knew next to nothing about our ways of hauling real freight...
Throwing chains and tarps in minus 40 degree weather is really refreshing instead of opening a couple doors and siting in the cab talking to ones self.. NO wonder some of you guy have seemed to gone off the deep-in...
What has happened to the honorable profession I left???????
I believe you punkin drivers have now destroyed my golden years, not looking forward to the nightmares that
now await me... -
)
Which video did you watch that disturbed you so, my son? I particularly like the 'Blurred Bynes' one - that's the one I found first - although the Chick-Fil-A one is okay, too. Apparently, and I haven't looked for this one, there is an instructional video on how to 'tuck' properly...
And aren't those wigs amazing?Little Eddy Thanks this. -
I do talk to myself, though. I only worry when I start answering myself, because then it degenerates into an argument...
I would wear the hat, except the new, taller seats make me sit leaning forward if I have even a ponytail, much less a cool hat, on; I don't even have three dollars to protect; I do listen to good-ole country music (as well as some not so good or old country music, and various other genres); never been a fan of big belt buckles; and I can promise you, as soon as I do have the requisite funds and find a pair of cowboy boots with the now-required oil and slip resistant soles, I will be wearing them again!
And re: nightmares - we try!!Little Eddy Thanks this. -
I followed the link and the YT channel launch into their interpretation of Alicia Keys song Girl On Fire...I don't even want to mention the name of the song the way they preformed it nor do I ever want to think about that again...just posting this reply makes me have to sign up for another 10 sessions with the shrink.
Like I said, that is no way to play Janga!
An only slightly less disturbed Little Eddy.mickimause Thanks this. -
Feels like a very supportive and social group and there is hardly any of the "Wa wa waaaaa," tears on my pillow, complaint threads about gettin dun wrong.
The starting pay is higher (then Werner) but I do wish I had just a taste more training...this will be a difficult decision.
As a paramedic I learned about professionalism and I learned the importance of training and preparedness and the nature of chaos...
Most likely I won't find the black swans until they cross my path, I won't know the unknown unknowns until I know them...no amount of training can cover all of these issues but detailed and in depth training can prepare you to deal with that which lurks in the shadows when you notice something scurrying in the dark; whenever you eventually encounter them.
Thanks for this post and thanks for your thread which I am crawling through in between post here.
Little Eddyatruckr Thanks this. -
All joking aside, I have been happy with the training and support I've gotten from Schneider. I started school on January 6, of this year, to get my CDL. What I expected from the school was enough instruction to pass the state test, and that's what I got. I expected that any company I chose to work for would have their own training program, and I didn't want to have to 'unlearn' a bunch of stuff. While a few more days with my TE would have been nice, at the end of the 5 days I was out I was more than ready to get out of the truck. I am a solitary person by nature, and much prefer my interactions with the masses to be of the electronic or drive-by variety. That's why I don't see me ever team driving, even to haul Harleys. Don't get me wrong - I really enjoyed my time out, my TE was awesome, I learned a lot you can't learn in books, and we had a blast. I just prefer my time to be MY time. At any point, if you feel you need more instruction, all you have to do is ask. The orientation classes were pretty in-depth regarding the Schneider way, but were also pretty unstructured/open/discussion-type classes. I never felt like I couldn't ask anything. There's also a wealth of information in these threads, as you've already discovered.
Whatever you choose, I will echo mickeyrat68 in requesting that you come visit us here, and often!
