If they are telling you they can't get ahold of a previous employer than it means they have tried multiple times and not just on Sunday.
It's your employer that's holding this thing up, not your recruiter.

Well she asked me if I owned the business also.. Which I work for best loading services inc which is one of the biggest lumping services out there.. One of the only 3 services allowed to unload at syscos that's are major contract and they do some other ones warehouses also.
So I sent her link to company website and phone number again to my job haven't heard back since.. Leaving tomorrow and won't be home till the 27th for work hopefully hear something soon. -
I sent an email over to Gracie asking some real basic questions. This was on Saturday, new year's eve no less. Within an hour, I had a reply from her asking if there was a number where she could reach me or if I would call her. I called her and spent about 45 minutes on the phone. She shared a lot of information with me about Prime and the PSD process. At the conclusion of that call she told me that if I went with Prime that was great, and even if I chose to look at other carriers to feel free to contact her with any questions about the industry and that she would help in any way possible. She also told me if I did apply with Prime that I could go through the online process and just be assigned a random recruiter if I wanted. Of course at that point I told her absolutely not and that I wanted to make sure she was my recruiter so I gave her some of my basic information and then the following day I completed the online app.
I called Gracie on Tuesday (she had Monday off) to make sure she had gotten the app and to see how things were looking. She said that she did have the app and that one of my employers had already responded. We were still waiting on the other one. She told me she pulled my driving record, and that while Safety had the final say on all applications, that she didn't think there would be any issues with mine.
I spoke with Gracie again on Thursday and Friday, and one of my employers was flatly refusing to provide any information. I got ahold of that employer and told them they needed to verify my employment which they finally did (after they told me what a horrible person and employee I was and how much they disliked me. And then concluded the conversation with "we only want to see you succeed."Haha ha!! That's a whole 'nother story).
Anyway, all my stuff was finally in on Monday. Gracie called me Tuesday afternoon and offered me a job. She emailed me a packet of information, and also snail-mailed me the same information. Everything she had told me verbally matched with the information in the email and the printed materials. There were absolutely no secrets or tall tales. I feel as though Prime and Gracie have been absolutely honest and above board in everything so far. And Gracie doesn't pressure you either. This is no hard-sell used car deal. She told me to let her know when I want to come down and she'll make it happen.
I would encourage you to be proactive in staying in touch with your recruiter. I don't know anything about your recruiter, but I do know that I am 100%available impressed with Gracie and with Prime! -
Yes, Gracie is a good person. She was very helpful and quick to help. I had a few issues with the employment. Being self employed and having part time work at the same time (employer retired and moved to Florida) etc. Anything she didn't know she quickly ran up the flag pole and got right back with what to do. She was very open and honest with her answers. Everything that she said was right on the money and current.
My best results for reaching her was by email, her phone almost every time went to voice mail (she's gets very detailed with her answers, a big plus). When I emailed her she would call me as soon as she was done with the person on the phone.

Glad to hear you got offered a job!! When are you going to orientation?
Which my recuirter was that good haha. She only has one company to contact since I've worked there since aug 07 idk. Gonna email her in the morning before I head to the airport. Since I'll be flying most of the day from Orlando to San antino but got layover on ATL -
Right now I'm shooting for the 31st. Waiting to hear back from Gracie, but from our previous conversations I'm assuming that will work. I've been waiting a little bit because I had a job offer up here in public safety (which is what all my training and experience is in). Looks like that position is probably on hold for the foreseeable future due to budget stuff.
If you're not getting the answers you want with your recruiter, maybe try and talk with someone else. Just call and ask for recruiting without mentioning a specific person. See who you get and maybe they can help answer some questions about what's going on. Also, can you check with your boss and see if they've received the verification paperwork and push them to send it back? That was what it took with my one employer; I had to get a little assertive with them to get it done, but once they finally did submit it the process was smooth and hassle-free. Good luck! It'll happen, just don't give up!
