Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.
-
True, but I could see "one of those weeks" were about 5 guys get nailed, gets pretty spendy for a company that tried to do all the right things?NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
hard to find decent help aint it
didnt you say something about one truck?joseph1135 Thanks this. -
LOL, getting closer all the time my friend.
-
If that were the case, why would you not have a driver sign a paper saying they swear not to wreck your truck/s, and if they do, they will be on the hook for all the repairs, any and all lawsuits, and medical bills for everyone. I beleive you have to be willing to accept liability in certain instances when you take on the responsibility of ownership.12 ga Thanks this. -
Would it make a difference if you were given a company phone?
-
Believe me, I already take on a LOT of responsibility to give a person a job, the difference is accidents happen, that's why you pay insurance, getting stopped and fined for talking on a cell phone is a choice that driver WILLING took on himself.
-
True. Guess you could fire them. Just not sure if there is any precedent for making the driver pay any part of your portion of the fine. That would probably be an interesting legal battle. -
Look CS, I'm not trying to be a hard ###, and those that work here know that I am not, but at what point does the worker need to take responsibility for some of this?
I am going to go out on a limb here and "guess" that what you were getting at was that the company should supply the phone if it is at all used for business, ok, but then is it fair that the company minutes would/could be used up on personal calls? As far as where do you draw the line on what the company supplies?
I don't know, when I was growing up, (yes I know it was a long time ago and apparently a LOT of things have changed) but I would never think of asking an employer for safety glasses or shoes, or pants, or gloves, or tools, just always felt there were my responsibility to be able to do the job.
Where does it stop, in the future will I need to supply diapers, tampons, and toothpaste? I wholeheartedly agreed with you on Gov. not being able to tell us what to do wear and say, but if you replace Gov. with Employer with what I think you are saying, it looks like the same equation to me???truckon and Cranky Yankee Thank this. -
besides Stan where would these responsible drivers come from
today everything is someone elses fault
I don't like big brother either but one thing I am SURE of
not even the government makes laws before people started doing something stupid necessitating some action
and yes the government screws up as soon as they try and fix it
the pendulum swings so far the original intent is lostroshea, NavigatorWife, 77smartin and 1 other person Thank this.
