Its basically a system that air conditions the bunk without idling the truck to keep the driver cool, there is several diffrent models they are testing, one of them is the Webasto BlueCool. Most of Swift's fleet already have Webasto Bunk heaters also, those keep the bunk warm without idling the engine as well. Hope that helps!
My dads 09' ProStar has the Webasto Bunk heater. I know Swift just got a bunch of New 2010 and 2011 Skyrise ProStars, not sure if those have them!
Well I'm jealous then! I liked the webasto we had in the volvo and I miss it in the international. How dare they give something to someone else and not me!!!!!
*ducks behind the podium before saying* my 2011 has a Webasto heater. Not that it's worth a boar's tit. It was wired wrong. It won't work unless the key is in the "on" position. Kind of defeats the purpose. If this cooling system is installed, the battery count better go up. Just the heater by itself would drain my batteries on that 07 Volvo I had.
I've seen alot of miles (more than I wanted in that area LOL!) in the NE region. Pretty sure you could do well. But, if you're from there will probably end up elsewhere. It's a weird Swift world.
hewy gang. thought I'd toss in here. In the 11 years I've been with Swift, the last 2 years have been the worst for miles. This is a direct result of the economic downturn/reccession. Don't expect much until the economy turns...
question, was reading the forum on central refrigerated out of salt lake city, if you have your CDL the training will cost you 2000 dollars, no CDL cost 3000 dollars, this is if you have'nt driven in a few years, back in the 90's the companys paid you, this means still to many drivers out there, so here's the question, what doe's swift charge for training, have CDL
