You laugh but I feel like this will be cargo blimp freight in a decade or two. Dimensions don't matter anywhere near as much in the sky.

Lol yeah that's one of the problems they are going to have to solve. If/when cargo blimps become viable we'll probably have a few (occasionally hilarious frequently tragic) accidents like that a year.

    Oh, much sooner than that.
Lockheed Martin has approached several remote Canadian mines, and are talking a model capable of carrying 90tons by 2025.
Look up Truck West News Dec 2016 digital edition. The cover story is about it and the potential they have. When these become a cost effective reality, the ice roads will no longer be built.
Here is another article as well that they will make a new mine viable...http://www.miningandenergy.ca/mines...vironmentally_friendly_mining_in_remote_loca/

In your very specific case I'd be looking to buy a good size chunk of stock in whatever the most direct investment in these blimps is. You definitely want to get a nice big lump sum payday if they get REALLY viable. This isn't me thinking greedy (which at least long term I'm more than capable of) this is me thinking you'd probably not hate getting a gold plated retirement package if that day comes.

I can see it now. White blimp with "Hindenburg Air Cargo, LLC" taped to the side, based just outside Chicago.
