And there is the rub.
I hae a theory that training is more of a circus circut to whip kids into a (When you are past 50, anyone 21 and younger are essentially children... with the exception of Armed forces etc) they do not take a moment that teaching these people to say the word No. To that dispatcher who says YOU GOTTA TAKE THIS LOAD. WITH THAT TRAILER DAMAGE.
It is a further thinking from myself that maybe some of our younger truckers don't yet have the courage to stand up and say no. Fix it please or find me a good empty trailer. Or reload at shipper into a good empty. Or let's find something else all togeher to haul.
Some companys REFUSE to accept such backtalk. How dare our young ones stand up and say the truck or trailer is broken.
I don't know how to express my thought that there needs to be a CHANGE within the management who has the power in every company engaged in trucking to support the younger ones and actually FIX that stuff or dispose of it and get good equipment.
I suspect that's kind of hard to do with 50 more in the orientation trailer ready to go next week.
