Look at the pics.
When you see gaps between brake and drum. You're losing adjustment.
Automatics are like anything else in life. Everything quits working with age. Eventually.
You can adjust them whether they work or not.
We're supposedly not supposed to if your not certified. But cops won't question you as long as your brakes are adjusted. They'll put you OOS if the adjustment is off.
So, take your pick. Oos or not.
I adjust em all. Peace of mind. And I'm updated on the inspection process of knowing when it's time to replace one.
I'm also one of the few who keeps an eye on my brakes. Most are too lazy and don't care about stopping power.

Auto slacks should last more than 3 years if you grease them properly (and no, a 10k mile grease job is not even close to being adequate).
IH Truck Guy, kemosabi49, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Trailer is Utility 2017. Not that old and okay well i guess i will just take it to the mechanic to check first the slack adjusters cause i dont want to mess w the brakes since i dont have expirience.

Experience comes with hands on learning.
Not someone else doing the job. -
You should be able to find a video on youtube on adjusting self adjusters. Even if you don't plan on doing it in the future, it will benefit you to learn how and do actually do it for yourself at least once. Might keep you from sitting at a scale waiting for a service truck.
And if the slack haven't been getting grease as often as they should, 2017 is a long time back.snowwy Thanks this. -
AModelCat and Opendeckin Thank this.

This thread is bugging me.
The 1 or 2 self proclaimed experts are holding me back.
I'll just say this ''Think air pressure''. -
Okay. I took someone here advice and today i did my post trip inspection, and to be honest i didn’t wanted to adjust them because i want it mechanic to do it, but also i’ve seen video how they adjust this brakes and decided to do it. I did turn the bolt behind the slack until the shoes hit the drum then turn it half way counter clockwise. All 4 of them. Another mistery none of the slack adjuster crank when i turn it half way counter clockwise. Is that issue or ? Thanks anyway to all of you who tried to help me, also tonight i’m picking up a load 45k probably water and they always made me slide me tandes so will see if this helped

Hopefully you have the slack adjusters that can be backed off.
Not all can.
Otherwise. Well.
That's why you shouldn't adjust them yourself unless you are trained.RoadRanger^^ Thanks this. -
Opendeckin and Bean Jr. Thank this.
