Make sure you are checking them regularly now or preferably, get them fixed so the auto adjusters work.kemosabi49 and RoadRanger^^ Thank this.

You responded with the wrong answer. They can be backed off because you need to do that in order to change the brakes.
Don't hide behind "I was cutting and pasting" -
Rockwells indeed have that button. Then again I don't know about the rest. I pretty much got out of the adjustment business since they quit using manual adjusters under there. I think with a little training I can become qualified but I do definitely remember the Rockwells.

From looking at your pics, your drums are worn beyond service and tapered severely ( I might not be seeing that right).. Once a drum gets too much taper in it, it will not allow the pads to work properly. You'll get away with adjusting slacks for a few times, then you'll lose use of the brakes even though your throw is in spec.RoadRanger^^ Thanks this.

Since i adjust them i dont have problem with them. Tandem slides freely. Thanks for the opinion anyway.

Make sure to get them fixed properly now unless you intend to be under there adjusting them every few thousand miles.
