Yea that's what i guessed. And since i haven't drove an 18 wheeler since 2007 it might not be a bad idea either.
I looked into schneider and they seem to want to give about 2 weeks of tanker training which is fine but i don't really want to have to go out on the road with a trainer for like a month to learn stuff i already know, I'm not super experienced but im not a rookie either.
Every other tanker outfit i see seems to be a small company that don't want to train. But i'll keep looking.
Tanker companies that hire with less than a year of experience?

I was out of driving for 2 years (oilfield) and came back to it. I did 7 months at a small company then came here to A&R. I know you need 6 months driving to come here. All they trained me on was how to operate a self loading pneumatic

Best I can think of is find a smalll company that will give you a chance as a stepping stone, and then come over here. This is a good place to work. I think Dart has a returning drivers program, AND I have seen a few Dart tankers and pneumatics. I don't know much about Dart though.

Brain fart, that was a Bay & Bay pneumatic I saw. But Dart does have a return to driving program

I forgot to mention that i only have a regular tanker (N) endorsement so i can't haul any of that X stuff.
Is hazmat that hard to get? I've hear theres more headaches that come with it. -
It's harder than it used to be. The post 9/11 days added background checks and such. It just takes more time really. I don't have X either. Only N for me.

$800 for you orientation, $800 per week training. They gave me a rental car to go to Atlanta (Morris IL for se folks) put me up in a nice hotel, and provided a big lunch.

A little know fact is if you do a 34 hr restart on the road they pay $300, and you have a $800 minimum pay as long as you were available all week and didn't turn down a load.
esandja3 Thanks this.
