I would have to say chemical hauling pays better than
Food grade. With a lot less waiting around.

Hazmat pays much better, but you also have to take in consideration where you live.

Seems like everyone in FL want to become a trucker LOL... seriously tho, FL rates, even for tankers, are some of the worst in the nation. Texas is also pretty cheap on their rates. Stuff to the east coast and chicago are much much better.

For example, I just ran a load of formalin to St. Paul out of Chicago. I met with another QC driver who hauled the same product to the same place but came out of Ocala. I made more $$ and ran about 1,000 miles less than he did. Needless to say, he wasn't happy, but that's the way it goes.

Oilfield hauling Crude probably pays the best. After that is probably Water, Acid, or Diesel.

I know guys up here in PA in the oilfields hauling water making some bank, 20+ /hr, that is if your not afraid to work. pneumatic tanks hauling frac sand aren't doing too bad either.
