Thanks alot. Yes research is crucial. I feel like the most overwhelming part of this whole process is the constant research and what not. Thank God for this forum. Oh and my dog is A Border Collie/Boxer mix and I'm almost positive that she has some pit in her as well with her massive head. The one blue eye and the socks on her feet are definitely the BC. She's an odd mix but a great dog.

Well after the phone interview and faxing some more requested info to Green Bay, I got the "Welcome to Schneider" phone call and email. Unfortunately, I have no idea when I'll be done with school and can take my test since it is so overcrowded. I kid you not, I had a kid tell me today that as long as he keeps failing the test, unemployment keeps paying his benefits as long as he shows up twice a week. He has zero interest in becoming a truck driver and the sad thing is, this makes up a large majority of the school. Thanks for screwing over us few guys who paid for our tuition and actually want to drive a truck for a living.
I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed with the 3 hour waits between 5 minutes of seat time. The other students, if you can call them that are just killing it for me but I'm trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I guess it's good training for dealing with some of the self-righteous morons I'll meet out on the road. But hey, I got the conditional hire, so I have that to be happy about at least. -
AM14 Thanks this.

Yes go to the instructor explain the situation ask him to seperate the ones who want to succeed from those who just want to suck the taxpayer.

I hated that when I was in school. I'm paying you 7 grand to be trained. Not to stand in a parking lot watching other people drive.

call the unemployment office and let them know a bunch of bums are taking advantage of the system. i dealt with the same #### when i went there. it was even worse last summer. and now they changed the CDL test here in NJ so majority of those guys will never pass.
AM14 and PitchforkedPineapple Thank this. -
I've talked to 3 different instructors about it and they all have the same complaints as myself and the few guys that are actually here to drive. 12 people took their tests last week. All but 1 failed. Rz14nj mentioned the new test after July 1st this year and that is definitely the problem. It really put a cork in the cdl mills here. So 11 back in the yard, add the 9 kids that started so far this week. 2 trucks doing backing maneuvers and one just doing straightline which just takes up space. There are usually 30 people on each list for each truck. Im going to go and try to talk to the director and maybe I will at least get my test date set and get some road time which I haven't gotten yet. They say its a 6 week course but I haven't met anyone who has done it in less than 3 months which is out of the question for me.
I am contemplating checking out their Dupont, PA campus. I don't see why it would be a problem transferring since it is the same company. It's 95 miles from my house but it pretty much evens out considering it takes me 1 hr 20 mins to drive the 45 miles to Linden. If the classes are smaller and I'll get more truck time and be around people who want to learn, I will gladly do that drive everyday. I am determined and will do what I have to do. If any one has been to or knows anything about the Dupont, PA campus, please let me know and thanks for listening to me gripe. -

Amazon and UPS expect above average seasonal loads this year. They need van drivers!
