How far do you guys commute to and from work everyday?I was wondering if my new job is too far,or if anyone else has a 60 miler one way before they start the workday?
I gotta go where the work is,and its supposedly a pretty good paying gig.
    Thanks for your replys

I'm only 10 minutes from my job.But if I had a 60 mile drive one way,I would make sure the company is well worth it.Price of gas is out of control.Did'nt bother me before but now that I have a car I don't go anywhere more then I have to.

I just got my tankers yesterday because my job requires it to haul blood tanks.I called Julie and told her,she was real happy about that. Now maybe i'll be making more.I told her that would be great if I could get more runs and she agreed. She's my dispatcher and one awesum lady.

I see they have a position where I live here in Jefferson. They got a plant a couple miles from me. Too bad they don't hire and train recent school grads. That would be sweet to be that close to the job.

Right now, I'm about 14 miles one way to work, but I have been as far out as 42 miles one way. It was a killer. As was pointed out in a previous post, a 14 hour day bookended by a one hour commute each way made for many 16 hour days. That gives you 8 hours off time AT HOME. Grab a shower and have dinner with the family and there really isn't much time for anything else but sleep.

I live about 35 miles away now. I wouldn't consider a local job any farther out. 60 miles would be OK if you only have to do it once a week. Every day would get old and expensive.
