That's what burned down the Crown Central rack some years back. No scully and 2 stupid Coastal drivers. You could swing 3 lines to the transport, no scully and no vapor recovery, just preset and pull. ( didn't even need a preset if you didn't want to)....what a deal.....

    BUT

I also pulled into GATX one night......and Mission was loading way on the other end........I hadn't carded in, no scully hooked up and no vapor either.......I swung the 6" over and hooked uo to the 2750 and the beech started loading. Blew my vapor cap half way across the terminal so sometimes, safety systems are not all that.

I drove for Crown Central Pet. Holtsville, NY late 70's to 1984 when they sold all assets on Long Island to Hess and pulled out.

They have a sorted history here....... if I remember right Crown is family owned ? Rosen or Rosenburg from NY? Anyway they had a POS plant here, small by comparison to say Shell etc. and just down right nasty. A relic from the 50's........

It was union and had a big strike in the 80's......employee lock out...and they won. Crown sold the plant to someone else and it's had a few more names on it since.....and of course the fire I spoke of........

Area fire marshal didn't know they were running that rack without safety's, refused to let them rebuild it..........

Must be an old rack/trailer... Rack will shut off (scully out) before you overfill a tanker... "

Man thats bs. You dont need otr to pull tanker locally. I see your from the bay area. Theres a few companies around that just require 2 years experience. Clean Harbors, Kag west(gas), carry transit( dry bulk), evergreen oil in Newark is looking for a Class A driver. Otr not needed. Believe it or not, Some companies dont even consider otr as experience. Just like otr companies dont consider local driving as exerienced.

keep in mind, kagwest seems to have zero tolerance with accidents. A friend of mine worked for them 3 years with no prior incidents and got fired for hitting the fence at San Jose airport. They are always looking for drivers.

I pull a 3 compartment trailer, and I like when I can run 2 gas arms and a diesel arm. In and out in a hurry!
