Iv literally pulled about everything I enjoy end dump or tanker by far. Problem with tanker is yes waiting at times the worst part about waiting in tanker is there is no reason for it. It shouldn’t take 2 hrs for a sample or an hour just for someone to come out and unlock a pipe.

    Dave1837 Thanks this.

I don't know about food service, but in chemical tank the waits were normally minimal. Though I've waited over 8 hours for a sample to be run. Several times I waited 33+ hrs for a load to come off of the trailer through a one inch hose. All money in the bank. Even when we had to give the first two hours free the demurrage pay usually made it worthwhile.

Yup I ran hazardous tanker for 7 years. Most days it was good but those days waiting for literally no reason sucked! Yea gotta love a long push through a small hose.

SunRay up in Jersey was a 8 hour unload. Air off into a 2 inch pipe that went at least a quarter mile.

Merck & Co. in Rahway used to be a 4 hour sample for EVERYTHING...

Transformer [Dielectric] oil was a good 6 hours from Exxon's lube rack.

Got to the customer who took a small beaker full of a sample inside, inserted 2 electrodes and turned up the voltage until it arced between the electrodes.

As long as it was over his minimum voltage number you were good to off load...

What would torque me is that there was no reason at the majority of the places I went because I’d watch a guy do a sample took 10 min then next time I’d go there it take 2 hrs which means they just weren’t doing it but instead doing something else.

I was a local hazmat tanker driver but wasn’t paid overtime or detention so yes I got paid something but didn’t make up for working 14 hrs when should of only been 10. Only 1 guy left at that company that I worked with and for good reason.
