Prime has both flatbed and tanker. They will make you go out with a trainer no matter the division. Never hauled the tanker and we dont have any on the site. Prime Tanker Division only does food grade, no baffles. Im in the Flatbed Division. Cant do anything but Flatbed... Everything else wouldnt be as interesting. (Yes I know about the surge, I drove fire trucks with water tanks, just not as much as a tanker trailer)

Although I went to a technical college because that was where superior would hire from where I live.

Well get ready for some eye opening information that may be on the horizon shortly. Apparently there's talk of requiring Flatbed drivers to have a Tanker endorsement because of those crated fluid loads on flatbeds that act like a tanker. Forget where I read it, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Ive already heard about that... Heard bout that awhile ago. Havent been back "home" to get the endorsment yet. Next time I go Ill try to get it though. Ive seen Prime flatbeds with totes that had liquid in them.

I went from mechanic for a tanker fleet to driving for them. All I took was a refresher course to get my CDL and off I went hauling hazmat tanks. I might have lucked into it.

    To OP
I would go tank. Unless your hauling fuel.
Even pumping off a load and lumping hoses around is not that bad. Hell its fun for me when i have to back blind side into a spot to unload. Keeps the mind fresh. And yes I am just a noob but you learn to shift with a smooth bore tank 3/4 full and you will be doing better than a lot of the rest.

    EDIT
I also am lucky I guess we haul petroleum based products and its not a MEGA carrier so I have only seen a tank wash one time, and that was just to pick up a tank that was dropped the day before.
