Superior Bulk and their non-hazmat division Carry Freight take new tanker drivers if you got your CDL through an approved school. That's where I hope to be heading when I complete CDL school in December.
Here's a couple listings:
One from Carry Freight in Jacksonville, FL
One From Superior Bulk In Lakeland, FL
If you read through the listings you'll find this toward the end:
"NEW GRADUATES
New Graduates from SBL Approved CDL Training Schools Classified as Entry Level drivers
Must be at least 21 years of age - and complete training program"
From what I understand they take on new CDL grads and you'll go through about 8 weeks of new driver training and then assuming you pass you'll be elevated to FT driver status. I know @SurfBaker started w/ Superior back during the summer and @WIlee81 just interviewed w/ them in the last few weeks so perhaps they can give some insight on how it is for new drivers.

I'm personally in standby mode still with them until I get my CDL (testing next week!), so I've just been keeping them up to date on my progress. If you decide you want to go work with them, call and see when would be a good time to go talk to your local terminal manager and go shake hands with them. Dress nice, big smile, and honesty will go a long way with them. Training is 30 days accumulated on the road, which includes a week long orientation at the Greer SC terminal.

I drive a smooth bore chemical tanker, 4500 gallons, haul types of acid / chlorine solutions. It will teach you to be gentle, or it will give you a gentle smack on the back, simular to running over a VW Bug. Slow down to fast, take off to fast, any sudden movement it will talk to you for sure.
I like it, but some do some don't.BigDog Trucker, FlaSwampRat, MYSTYKRACER and 2 others Thank this. -
Like trying not to spill a 4500 gallon cup of coffee in the cab. Only, the coffee can kill you.

Smoothbore isn’t that bad when you’re full.
half a load you gotta take it easy it’s gonna be rough. I’ve sent drinks flying out of cup holders and knocked my truck out of gear when I was new. You’ll learn.BigDog Trucker and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Certainly makes you driver better, shift smoother, drive smarter.... I'll let the hot rods feel like big boys for driving a van and collect my bigger checks for just keeping it casual.

'specially when you're running hills and curves with white stuff all over the road. Or that little bump at the end manages to slide the whole truck another 6 feet forward if you didnt stop gently enough.
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -

What are ya'lls thoughts on Service Transport? I've only been able to find one thread about it here, Indeed reviews are decent, but Glassdoor reviews aren't.
